The initial shipment of equipment has been successfully delivered to our 28-acre site in Crescent Mills, California.

We are now seeking support to finalize the construction of our manufacturing facility, which is critical for producing fire-resistant, carbon-smart CLT that will support restoration of northern Sierra forests.

Funding Leveraged

  • $2M from the CAL FIRE Business and Workforce Development Program

  • $1.3M from the USDA Forest Service Wood Innovations Program

  • $1M from the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation

We’ve received over $5M in support from public and private organizations through Mosaic’s connection with the founding nonprofit, Sierra Institute for Community and Environment.

Mosaic Timber is a partner organization of the Sierra Institute for Community and Environment, a nonprofit organization based in Taylorsville, CA and founded by Executive Director Jonathan Kusel.
